Stablecoin settlement vs wire transfer

A wire is a final bank payment that runs on business days; Fedwire customer transfers cut off at 6:45 p.m. ET. Stablecoin settlement runs on crypto networks around the clock but still needs a bank wherever fiat goes in or out. Under the GENIUS Act, payment stablecoins must come from permitted issuers by January 18, 2027. We place both rails.

We place payment processing, business banking and crypto rails for high-growth, complex businesses with institutions that take the industry, then watch the chargeback ratios, reserves and reviews that get accounts closed, with more than one rail so one bank's no doesn't stop the business. Approval is never guaranteed.

What does the GENIUS Act change?

Only permitted issuers can issue payment stablecoins in the US, with 1:1 reserves and monthly reserve reports. It takes effect no later than January 18, 2027. Details: GENIUS Act guide.

Do I still need a bank for stablecoin settlement?

Yes, wherever you convert to or from dollars. Settling for others can also make you a money transmitter under FinCEN's guidance. Many businesses keep both rails. See stablecoin settlement and correspondent banking.

Where Break Free Finance fits

We're not a bank, processor, or money transmitter. We structure the deal, build the file, and place it with institutions in our network: decades of relationships with 40+ financial institutions and solution providers. The institution decides, and approval is never guaranteed. We can't release funds another provider is holding.
